Delicate fine wines with silky textures, excellent concentration of flavours, synonymous with classic Tamar Valley wines.

2024 Rosé

Light pink, dry, crisp summer chilled wine – a classic Tamar Valley Rosé, with floral and red fruit notes. Perfect with seafood, chicken, pre-dinner drinks, lunch in the sunshine. Red fruits, strawberry, raspberry aroma and taste.

2023 The Barn Pinot Noir red wine bottle

2023 Pinot Noir

Bright garnet in the glass, with lively, lifted violets, black cherry and subtle savory spice aromas. Medium weight, with bright raspberry and strawberry fruits on the palate. Subtle oak lingers on the palate, with poised acidity providing freshness and drive.

2022 Chardonnay

Straw coloured with flecks of green. A chiselled nose, with sea spray and florals underlining taught stone fruit aromas. Medium bodied, with ripe white nectarine and peach stone fruitintensity. Subtle French oak spice and minerality provides depth of flavour and structure, with classic Tasmanian acidity lingering.

2021 Viognier

Fruit was late harvested mid April for full flavour development from the Waterton Hall vineyard which was whole bunch pressed directly to barrel & wild fermented. Wine was left on lees to build texture and complexity until just prior to bottling in January 2020.

‘A delicious example of cool climate Viognier, rich and delicate, a feast for the senses with a beautiful perfume. Silky texture with great length through the palate, soft & cerebral’ A wonderful white wine for all occasions but particularly lovely with roast chicken & roast vegetables plus so delicious with Tasmanian produce platters and cakes as well!

2019 Riesling

2019 Shiraz Premium - 20 year old vines red wine bottle

This deliciously dry Riesling was gently pressed and fermented in very cool temperatures with maturation on yeast lees for a few months to create depth. Delightful with spicy foods & cheese platters. Our winemaker says "palate is generous with excellent concentration and flavours of lime oil & grapefruit pith & crisp acidity

2019 Shiraz [20 Year old Vines]

Hand picked in May 2018 from the most premium & mature fruit, hand plunged & matured in select french oak for 12 months to create a lingering, elegant & complex shiraz with white spice. Deliciously smooth & deep plum in colour.

Our Vineyard

Waterton Hall is located on the pristine banks of the Tamar River 40 minutes north of Launceston. The gently sloping vineyard facing the Tamar River is ideal for the development and growth of both red and white varietals. The slow release of cool climate flavours brings about a depth of texture and the ability to create complex, expressive, and refined wines.

We have 2.5 hectares of Riesling, Shiraz and Viognier, and in addition we have planted (in late 2017) four new pinot noir clones and two new chardonnay clones which extends the vineyard to 10 hectares.
